THE ALL-IRELAND ELECTRIC PICNIC

Summer may be over…. school may be back on…. but this is gonna be the mother of all weekends…

Thousands of festival goers are gonna go fool around on the grounds of Stradbally, and Kilkenny & Tipperary will be battling it out for the All-Ireland hurling title at Croker. So get your wellies on (not the hurling supporters - although I wouldn’t be surprised!) and get out there.

I’m gonna try and make it to both – but I’ll probably have seen enough hurling down at the Picnic and I’m not talking about the sport! Yes I’ll be handing out a load of Sandtex frisbees and alcohol, so keep your bleary eyes peeled. Just look for the Phantom FM sign cause that’s where I’ll be (only messin’ about the alcohol btw!!)

I’m really trying my best to get us good weather for the weekend but I do need your help too. All you have to do is join in the campaign by telling me how the weather’s going in your area, and with enough comments we’ll get the sun shining.

For those of you who aren’t festival fans or hurling hooligans, it’s gonna be a nice weekend so get Sandtexing! Those walls ain’t gonna paint themselves and it’s good to make the neighbours jealous from time to time. Doesn’t it feel great knowing that the cranky auld boot a few doors down will wish she had a freshly painted door and a nice new glossy gate just like yours!

StoryI'm The Sandtex Insider, marketing guru and hero of the Irish people. Last Summer, I put together this little website yoke to campaign for better Irish weather. Why? Cos you can't paint your house with Sandtex when it's lashing, and if we don't sell loads of Sandtex then I can't keep up payments on my Opel Kadett. There's a recession on you know.

Anyway, it was a bleedin' HUGE success, tens of thousands of you joined in and we had a glorious Summer '09. Well, the sunny bits anyway.

It was so successful that the French asked me to help bring the snow to the Alps. It was a great old gig - those chalet girls, wha? But then Theirry Henry came along with his cheating hands, and after a Pernod-fuelled rampage I was out on my ear. Still, France's loss is Ireland's gain, and I'm back for Ireland Deserves Sun Part II. Join us Ireland, and we can make Summer 2010 a scorcher.
